Most disrespectful nastiest staff ever... In the outdoor department Nancy E. Arnold Was very happy to sell me a $2500 lawnmower but the next day when I came back to return it was nasty to me and wanted to charge me a %15 restocking fee And states that it's right there on the return policy And nowhere to be found on it do not recommend doing business with this sears
I really want to like Sears. I grew up buying tools there with my dad, and have tested their lifetime tool guarantee more than once! I also think their appliances are well equipped and their appliance service is strong. However, after THREE terrible experiences at this store over the past couple of years I have to give up on them. First one was a patio furniture set that took three tries and lots of unanswered phone calls to pick up at their wharehouse (which is just down the street), 4 WEEKS LATE. It is so dirty, dark and disorganized in there, it is really hard to believe this is a national retail chain. Second, I ordered a dishwasher from the store (about nine minths age now). It took OVER AN HOUR to get my order in, even though I went into the stew equipped with a model #. It would seem Their systems are slow and cumbersome and they are grossly under-staffed so I had to wait a while for someone to be able to place my order. The last straw came when, after spending literally 10 minutes answering questions to get signed up for “shop my way” rewards, I made a 3500 purchase, which should have earned me nearly $100 back in points. But the points never credited, so I called to ask about it, and they promised they would credit in 7-10 days. I assumed all was good until
Purchased a pair of boots on 9/30/17 and one of the tie downs on a pair of craftsman steel toe boots broke just over a month later. Even with Maine’s law of implied warranty being 4 years, they refuse to do anything to help with even an exchange/repair on the boot and I’m now stuck filing to bring them to small claims court as it is cheaper than purchasing new boots. Very disappointed that both the store and customer support line refused to do anything to help me.
I went to redeem them today (was going to buy another appliance) and they still weren’t there, so I called AGAIN and they refused to credit the points because it has now been more than six months since my original purchase. So much wasted time! Why shop here when there are so many other options. I’ve purchased appliances through Home Depot, Lowe’s and local places and had great experiences at all. Sorry, Sears, but you’re a dinosaur.
Do not purchase a ring or any jewelry from this store. We bought a $1,300dollar ring from them a couple months back. After having it for 6months we went to buy another one in a more reputable jewelry store and for the heck of it got ours appraised. It wasn't worth any more than $50!! We called Sears and told them this and went round and round and round with them. We asked for the manager to call us as we were getting know where with the employee in jewelry who sold us the ring. We were ripped off!! And had the appraisal papers to prove it. They didn't want to hear it and the manager never called us back. Never again will we shop there for anything!!
I went sears at Maine Mall South Portland, Maine to buy a snowblower, I got there at 4:35pm. A salesperson was checking me out and he called the warehouse to let them know I would be right over to pick it up. The warehouse employee stated that if I was not there in 6 minutes he would be gone. He only works til 5:00. The salesperson tried to explain I was coming right over. The warehouse is just across the parking lot, The warehouse employee then hung up on the salesperson, So I cancelled the sale because of EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. My wife has always purchased all our appliances at Sears but as of now we will go somewhere else ...to a store that wants to provide better service to the customers. We are in the process of getting a new washer and dryer but I feel we will be treated better at Lowe's or Home Depot. You should look into the employee at that location and let him know this is why companies go out of business, WORD OF MOUTH!!!!
